Rev. Deborah Cayer with Worship Associate: Victoria Zula

Freud thought that human beings have two great needs, to work and to love. Is work then something we do to earn a living, or is it something more? How might our work contribute to what theologian Matthew Fox calls “The Great Work of the Universe”?

Rev. Cayer has recently joined the ERUUF ministerial staff as the Assistant Minister for Spiritual Development after twelve years as the minister at the Unitarian Church of Sharon, Massachusetts.

On the Podcast:

0:00-6:10 Reflection - Victoria Zula

Claudia Frost with Worship Associate: Lesley Looper

Should the church be a place where people’s lives can change for the better in some fundamental way? Poet Anne Dillard said people should be given hard hats and life preservers when they come to church. What does she mean by this?  What is the meaning of membership at ERUUF? Our mission is to transform lives by building a free and inclusive covenantal religious community of spirit, service, justice and love. Are you ready?

On the Podcast:

0:00-4:58 Reflection – The Meaning of Membership - Lesley Looper

This handy field guide will ease proper identification and give insight into both the past and the future, which may make the present a little less confusing. Our guest preacher will be the Rev Dr. Barry Whittemore, former ERUUF Ministerial Intern, who serves Outlaw’s Ridge Universalist Church in Duplin County NC.
